Bad blogger!

That’s me! I am really bad at blogging as I’m sure you can tell. It’s not that I’m too busy. It’s mainly I live a boring life and don’t do much of anything. But I guess I’ll try to update anyways.

Miss Diva now has 5 teeth! I was just getting used to her having 4 when the 5th emerged. I like things to be even so I’m really wanting more teeth to come in lol. But now I’m thinking about dealing with a teething baby and I’m not wanting more to come right now HAHA. She started walking 4 days before turning 10 months. She’s a pro at it now…walks more than she crawls. I actually really like it because I can tell if she’s tired by how she walks. She tends to fall A. LOT. if she’s tired so when I see that it’s straight up to the crib for her. I can’t believe she’ll be ONE in just a few short weeks!!!!

We’re having breakfast right now. CORRECTION: she was having breakfast. Suddenly stopped eating her pancakes :/. Wish she’d eat better and I wish there was something in the house I actually wanted to eat. The numbers on the scale keep going down and while to some it’s a good thing…to me it’s not. Mama needs to eat more!

Well Ashlyn has decided that we’re going to go play with her toys so off I go! I’ll try to update later about some craft projects I’ve been working on.

Single mom?

I didn’t sign up for this role but if the shoe fits…

I recently moved out of the apartment I shared w/my bf and am now staying at my parents house. It’s been quite a change and I’ve been finding myself very sad & stressed out. The biggest source of stress is others telling me what to do with Ashlyn. She’s hungry…feed her. She’s thirsty…give her water. She’s this. She’s that. When did I suddenly become an idiot who doesn’t know how to take care of a baby? Also everyone apparently HAVE to be the one to rush to her aid when she’s been crying for all of 5 seconds. This happened the other day while I was nursing Ashlyn and my dad barged into my room. Now not only do I close the door (which it was at that time) but I lock it too.

This house is pretty big and not baby proofed. I spend all day chasing Ashlyn around since I can’t keep her contained. I’m actually surprised that she’s been in the family long enough for me to type this out. It’s hard doing everything on your own. Changing every diaper. Giving every bath. Nursing her. Feeding her solids. Making her food. I barely have time for myself. I know I just need time to adjust but it’s been rough so far.

I know at the end of the day that this is the best thing for my baby girl. She’s the most important thing in my life so I have to do what I can to make sure she’s got the life she deserves.

Well she’s here trying to get some cuddles and I love me some from her so time to say until later…

Great weekend

Ashlyn and I had a great weekend out of the house. I don't have a car so we don't get out very often but luckily for us my stepmother invited us out.

Saturday we went to the mall and did a little shopping. I got a pair of shoes for a wedding I'm going to next month. Ashlyn for once didn't get anything lol. After the mall we went back to my parents house for a little while. She got to enjoy some mango which she really loves. Most of the time she showed off how she could climb up the stairs. We were constantly chasing her to grab her up the stairs. She did go up one time so my parents could see her do it. Such a big strong girl for almost 8 months!

Yesterday was an especially big day. We went into NY and my stepmom & I got our hair done. Considering how long we were there, Ashlyn did very good. She wasn't allowed to crawl on the floor which upset her but she eventually took a nap which allowed for some stuff to get done. After that we went to visit family but she had been woken up from a nap so she lived up to her nickname of Crank Master Ash. She kept hiding her face in my chest if someone talked to her and cried whenever the 1 yr. old who was there would scream. Ashlyn is not used to a lot of people and certainly isn't around kids so while she was a bit overwhelmed, I feel as if she did really good. I'm quite proud of my little girl.

The past 2 nights she has slept like a dream which has been fabulous for me. Guess all the excitement wore her out. Now I'm scared that since today is just a normal boring day that she will give me trouble at night again. Guess I'll have to wait a few hours to see.

Back with a vengance

Oh yes I am. I have been on a bunch of blogs and it has given me the inspiration to start blogging again. Today's blog will be about a great cloth diaper giveaway over at `29 Diapers.
